Welcome to CrossRoad New York!

We’re excited to share our first update from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary. After months of preparation, CrossRoad New York is officially underway!

This year, our New York participants traveled from 20 states across the country—from Washington to Rhode Island, Texas to Minnesota, and many places in between. It was a travel day we won’t soon forget. Between delays, diversions, and flight cancellations, getting everyone to campus took a little longer than expected. As of this morning, we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of our final three participants after yesterday’s travel disruptions.

Despite the rainy weather, participants arrived throughout the day to warm welcomes from Ana, Louis, and the entire Team Road staff. By the end of the evening, there were lots of tired smiles as everyone settled in, learned their way around campus, and started making new friends.

After check-in, participants gathered for dinner, campus tours, and their first round of icebreakers. There was plenty of laughter, a little awkwardness (as expected!), and lots of opportunities to begin learning names and making new friends.

Later in the evening, the staff welcomed the group and introduced them to the journey ahead. Participants learned about the three stages of the CrossRoad experience, each centered around a fundamental question:

Stage 1: Who am I?
Stage 2: Who is God?
Stage 3: Who is my neighbor?

Over the next ten days, participants will explore these questions through lectures, discussions, worship, service, and community life.

We’ll continue sharing updates throughout the session, and photos from each day will be posted on our Flickr page. Be sure to check in regularly and follow along with the CrossRoad experience.

Thank you for sharing your students with us. We’re excited to spend the next ten days together and look forward to all that’s ahead.
