Eight years ago, I had the opportunity to attend CrossRoad Summer Institute, and this last spring to attend CrossRoad 2.0. It was both exciting and challenging to again hear that my vocation is unique and ongoing, to again reflect on where I have been and where I will grow. In the time in between CrossRoad Summer and CrossRoad 2.0, I was thankful to have the CrossRoad Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) working hard to foster our alumni community.
Throughout this year, our Alumni Board has helped offer opportunities for alumni to connect, learn, and grow. We launched the Seasons of Life initiative, offering a powerful seminar for alumni discerning their professional careers and navigating the transition into the workforce. Alumni met with us weekly during Lent to partake in a book club. We visited CrossRoad Summer programs during the reentry stage to welcome new alumni to the community and share our experience. We even launched our own CrossRoad Alumni instagram!
It has brought me so much joy these last few years to serve on the CrossRoad AAB, working to bring our alumni closer to Christ and each other. I’ve also grown spiritually and professionally, made beautiful friendships, and benefited a community I will always feel welcome in. I pray that you take time to reflect on and consider applying to the AAB, helping serve and connect CrossRoad Alumni as they continue exploring their vocation through the love of God and neighbor.
